我的理解是小孩P2读完之后,就不受地址限制了。但是,关键是,从报名一直到P2结束的30个月期间,孩子的确是住在那个地址的。
When the demand exceeds vacancies in a phase, priority admission will be given by citizenship (Singapore Citizen before Permanent Resident), followed by those who live nearer to the school based on home-school distance categories in this order of priority – “within 1km”, “between 1km and 2km” and lastly “more than 2km”.
This priority given under the “within 1km” and “between 1km and 2km” distance categories (including the eligibility to be balloted within these distance categories) is given with the expectation that the family will remain at the address for the duration of the child’s primary school studies, as it is for the convenience and interest of the child.
In a small number of cases, there may be situations where the families are unable to remain at the address for the entire duration of the primary school studies. Even so, a child who gains priority admission into a school through his/her distance category is required to reside at the address used for registration for at least 30 months from the commencement of the P1 Registration Exercise on 2 July 2015. If this condition is not met, MOE reserves the right to transfer the child to another school with vacancies, as the basis for priority admission to the first school was the declared address used for registration.
Parents do not need to seek MOE’s approval to change their residential address.
However, if a child gains priority admission under the “within 1km” and “between 1km and 2km” home-school distance categories (including the eligibility to be balloted within these distance categories) and is subsequently found to have not fulfilled the condition that the child resides at address used for registration for at least 30 months from the commencement of the P1 Registration Exercise on 2 July 2015, MOE reserves the right to transfer the child out of the school to another school with vacancies. MOE will evaluate and assess the circumstances for each case, before making a decision as to whether to transfer the child out of the school.
MOE recognises that some families may face exceptional circumstances that prevent them from remaining at the address for the entire duration of the child’s primary school studies. We wish to assure parents who find themselves in such cases that MOE is prepared to allow the child to remain in the registered school, provided they are able to provide compelling grounds to justify the change in residential address, e.g. severe economic hardship or matrimonial disputes that necessitates the move.
