I had very valid info that sporean residents & shops in Chong Pang area are VERY PRO-China people compared to certain other areas. (Likely this estate to be even the MOST PRO-China estate)

Reasons likely to be the sporeans residents in Chong Pang are mostly chinese-educated middle-aged to elderly, with a huge percentage that resettled from the OLD Yishun Kampong to Chong Pang, hence they still preserved the very gracious kampong spirit , especially towards PRCs, since PRCs were also perceived same chinese-educated as them.

That's why Yishun Chong Pang Yishun has one of the highest percentage of PRCs buying hses there compared to other estates. Chong Pang was also THE FIRST estate that PRCs bought flats in huge numbers way back in the 1990s

In Chong Pang area, there most of the coffeshops there, the sporean boss hire ALL PRCs instead of other estate's coffesshops's boss that may hire half malaysians & half PRCs or hire mostly malaysians instead. You go see that 2 coffeeshops opposite 7-11 OUTLET Coffeeshop, all the workers there are PRCs, NO Malaysian-chinese workers

You will also be very disappointed to know even in yr own age group the teenagers to 20plus-yrs-old sporeans , the percentage of this age-grp that same as you dislike & reject PRCs newcomers are dwindling, as can be shown in a local recent popularity contest by the huge percentage of young sporeans that recently voted Yuan Shuai , a China contestant to be the MOST popular newcomer artiste against all the other local-born sporean newcomers artiste.

As for the middle-aged to elderly sporean-chinese, this age grp don't even need to say becos all along this age grp is the most PRO & Most welcome China newcomers group.

Tis thing only last week during my get-together session with my 2 close China PR friends, they told me this. They say Chong Pang the best. They also say Toa Payoh also good. Last week I visited them in their Chong Pang flat. Before this, I was not aware of this.

They say there's even a statue from china in Chong Pang


This I only heard from them last week. The analysis above is they themselves told me. My this china PR friend said a Yishun chinese-educated elderly neighbour told her these possible reasons why Yishun people are very welcome china people. They say in comparison those hdb estates that got mostly young 20plus-yrs-old sporeans are not so friendly towards PRCs
