我还好，数学老师是新西兰紧缺的。再读一年教育学历，数学老师的工作是肯定有的。国家还先给我5千新币鼓励我做老师，等我读完这一年教育再给我5千。我已被教育学院 录取了。可是为什么数学老师会紧缺？就是因为这份工作不好做，没人愿意做，才缺人哪？年薪还可以，起薪3.9万新币，当然还要打20%的税。我去年11月读完书后，今年没去读教育。自己在家做数学补习。凭着在奥大数学系做过两年助教的经验，到也收到十来个学生，主要补习O/A Level。在奥大就读时大二，大三时，我在奥大数学系兼职做assignment marker and tutorial tutor as a teaching assistant. 只是这里补习风气远不及亚洲，要把补习当碗饭吃是不够的。一年中只有大约40周有学生，一考完试就没学生想补习了。年收入不过2万新币。我也申请过其他兼职工作，如高中老师的teaching assistant, 超市员工等。无一成功。只好明年再读一年教育，以后做数学老师了。 当然这高中数学老师的素质都不低。有个西班牙人是数学硕士毕业后才去读教育，才做老师的。我的本科同学今年在读教育，明年就可当这的高中数学老师了。她2000年出国前是北京师范大学信息管理系的副教授了。

多谢指点。我想口语好坏的标准是因地而异的。以前在广东我们是外语导游，接英文团的。以为自己口语还行吧。来新西兰你是和母语是英语的白人竞争。你的英语是远远不够的。这里的新加坡，马来西亚，印度人的英语笔头都不错，因为很多人在学校都是英文授课。但他们的口语口音很重，在新西兰主流社会还是接受不了。他们也只是比我们大陆的混得好点，大多数进不了主流社会。比如很多印度人能在加油站做收银员，很多中国人就应聘不上。我认识的这的一对新加坡夫妇不到40岁，也没什么全职工作在这。太太和我是珠心算中心的同事。我每周教两堂课珠心算。

<p>所以说还是回国最好。国内现在待遇不错啊。你在哪个国家都一样，人家都喜欢用自己人。除非你有非常人之所能，或在某专业有过人技术，不然会很难找工作。这里很多人都是在新加坡读书后才找到工作的，我认识的外国朋友大部分是被公司派过来或是被猎头猎过来的。</p>

<p>Hi guys. I have to write in English as my typing of Chinese is too slow and full of errors. It might be a good news for me! I submitted my application online for sceondary school maths teacher on May 16 and MOE replied me in mail on May 25 to ask me to furnish all the required photocopied documents. I only got the mail today as I am at Auckland, New Zealand now.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>I will fax and email them my documents today and see how it goes. But my husband is rejected by MOE. He applied for English Teacher position. We guess that MOE only wants native English speaker to teach English. </p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>I will keep updating my news. Cheers!</p>

<p>以你和先生的条件，回国去大城市找份不错的工作应该没问题，何必一定要在国外呆呢？</p><p>如果真的要来新加坡，即使不能进教育部，也可以做补习的。</p>

<p>In New Zealand, I can become a teacher of math, however, the teenagers are very hard to teach. I think in singapore, the situation may be better. I do notice that some complain young kids are naughty in singapore as well. However we have to bear in mind the classroom management is harder in New Zealand. You cannot scold, punish, or abuse the kids in the way they think they were. Otherwise you'll be prosecuted by parents, schools. Students challenge teachers in every possible aspect. A friend of mine whom I mentioned above went to do her practicum got her personal shocking experience. She said the teacher&nbsp;she followed just couldn't simply controll the class becasue the kids kept challenging her. You all should know that the teacher works in the school for more than 10 years, and is an associate teacher, which is equivelent to an associate professer in a university. </p><p>Perhaps you would find it tense and dense to digest what I put down. Just take it for your information only. [em01]</p>
