This tribute concert to former President S.R. Nathan is lead by the SSO's Resident Conductor Lim Yau, and joining him are Singaporean pianists Lim Yan and Abigail Sin in Saint-Saëns' Carnival of the Animals. Both Lim Yan and Abigail Sin were featured under the SSO President's Young Performers Concert in 2002 and 2003 respectively. Rounding off the programme are popular classics including the Intermezzo to Cavalleria Rusticana by Mascagni, the Hungarian Dance No. 5 by Brahms and the first movement from Beethoven's Third Symphony.
Admission for this concert is by invitation only.
A limited number of tickets are available for Friends of the SSO and members of the public. All tickets are complimentary and audience members may make a voluntary donation in aid of two charities nominated by Mr Nathan: the Singapore Symphony Orchestra and the Canossian School for the Hearing-Impaired.
