You may wish to note that there is no restriction to S Pass and EP holders getting pregnant and delivering their child in Singapore. On the other hand, female foreign worker who is holding a Work Permit must not be pregnant or deliver any child in Singapore during the validity of her permit or visit pass unless she is already married to a Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident with the approval of the Controller of Work Passes. The condition shall apply even after the Work Permit of the foreign worker is expired, cancelled or revoked.
If a WP holder is pregnant, employers can make a query if she has breached the WP conditions by writing in to WPD at [email protected] or fax the following information to :
1) Name and work permit number of the female worker
2) Citizenship of the worker's spouse
3) The worker's expected date of delivery
4) Name of company
The WPD officer will reply within 14 working days.
