When we were going to university, going to primary school was free;
When we could not yet work, jobs were assigned/allotted;
When we could work, only after banging our heads against the wall were we able to find a job to survive on;
When we could not yet earn money, housing was assigned/allotted;
When we could earn money, we discovered that we could not afford it;
When we had not entered the stock market, even fools were making money;
When we excitedly rushed in, we discovered that we had become fools ourselves;
When we had not yet reached marrying age, one could get married simply having a bicycle;
When we reached marrying age, without a Western-style house or a car one could not find anyone to marry;
When we are not looking for wives, the girls talked about heart/love;
When we look for wives, the girls talk about money;
When we are not looking for work, even elementary school students can become managers;
When we are looking for work, even university students can only clean bathrooms;
When we could not yet have children, others could have a string of them;
When we want to have children, no one could have more than one.
Just who exactly did our generation bother??
Well, come on , comrades, it is our fault for being once hailed as the flowers of the motherland’s future!!!
