My suggestion would be something like, just walk along orchard road, but remember to skip orchard tower.
There are so many places of interest to spot or chill out at on orchard road, even, at night time. Bars at St Regis, hard rock, dempsy(nearby), irish pub, ... all the way to cineleisure, and make sure you do not go further east.

- You can try going to Orchard Tower....it is rowdy...but you can witness the real night life of singapore...make sure you have a singaporean to go with you...good luck...
